Bounced Emails & Mobile Numbers
Bounced is any contact that could not be reached due to a permanent reason.
It is important to keep your contact list updated and clean from bad or invalid contacts. A cleaner list improves the successful delivery rate of your messages, enhances the design and implementation of more efficient SMS and Email campaigns, and provides meaningful analytics.
Usually, list cleaning is offered as a paid service from third party companies; accuracy varies and is almost never perfect (100%).
Tellody offers its users essential list cleaning services for free.

Bounced Mobile Numbers
Bounces can occur for several reasons, most likely in the case of:
- An incorrect or out-of-service mobile number
- An inoperable, powered-off or out of signal mobile device
Tellody tracks the whole lifecycle of your SMS campaign, including the delivery status of all your messages. When the SMS aggregator, that distributes the messaging traffic to mobile networks, reports a message send failure, Tellody logs the message as a bounce.
Tellody changes the status of a mobile number to bounced when 7 concecutive messages bounce. Bounced mobile numbers are automatically moved to Bounced Mobiles group. This dynamic group
is visible from the Contacts Page and contains all contacts with bounced mobile numbers.
SMS campaigns won't be sent to those contacts anymore, but you'll still be able to view their information.
Note: You are charged for every text message (SMS) you send, even if the recipient's mobile number does not exist!

Bounced Emails
When a message can not be delivered to an email address, it's called a bounce. There are several reasons why emails bounce. For example the domain name might not exist or the recipient might be unknown.
Tellody tracks the complete lifecycle of your email campaign. In the case of an unsuccessful delivery, a detailed return to sender
message is sent from the recipient's mail server.
If an email address hard bounces for 7 times, it is automatically moved to Bounced Email group. This dynamic group
is visible from the Contacts Page and contains all contacts with bounced emails.
Bounced emails are addresses that could not be delivered successfully to recipients of email marketing campaigns. Email campaigns won't be sent to those contacts anymore, but you'll still be able to view their information.
Note: Lists with a lot of bounced addresses oftern result in high rates of bounces, spam complaints and unsubscribes.
A bunch of old, role, stale or invalid addresses can drastically impact negativelly your sender reputation. Your engaged Contacts might not be able to get your mail because ISPs see your campaigns as spam.
A quick view of which contact is bounced is offered by symbols on the tab of the photo of each contact.
